About Me

All my life I have been drawn to listening.

Listening to others. Listening to song. Listening to drips of rain, waves on sand, and rocks cracking in the sun. Instinctively there was a sense of much to be gained in the act of listening. Listening was my form of curiosity, and insatiable curiosity still drives my every moment. Curiosity has lured me to many paths and many continents. Love of singing took me to the opera houses of Europe. Love of the story made me a news broadcaster in the midwest. Love of the psyche made me a psychotherapist.  Love of life made me a listener.

To sing, to sense a good story, to ferret out what heals, to know how to live...all of these human arts require exquisite listening and the ability to translate what we hear.

After half a century on planet Earth what I have learned about listening is that it has many dimensions. All of us know that you can listen with your ears. Now it is becoming more widely known that you can listen with your embodied being. The body speaks a rich and ancient language. When you listen with your whole being you are listening to the intelligent song of Life itself as it broadcasts itself everywhere within and around us. Your body is Life’s receiver and transmitter. Your attention is the tuning dial. Life is playing your song.

All you have to do is listen.
